The prolific East Texas artist has honed his public art focus and shaped his career based on a strong belief that art is for everyone to experience. The colors he chooses, the designs he creates, and even the sculptures' titles nod to his signature artistic style — minimal and colorful, with room for interpretation. 

Most of Jeffie Brewer's sculptures are of joyful animals, with some nature and fantasy creature designs included in the mix. They inspire interaction — touching the piece, reacting to its perceived expression, or striking a similar pose. Most often, viewers say the sculptures simply make them smile. 

"Joy Machine" explores Jeffie Brewer's work in a large, high quality paperback book spanning more than 160 pages. Exclusive imagery and sketches, behind-the-scenes photos, process documentation and responses from curators, former students, collectors and art historians are interspersed with Jeffie's story, in his own words, to assemble a cohesive understanding of how and why he creates his art, and more importantly, what he hopes it inspires.
