Our Story

From sculptures that bring joy to photographs that inspire travel, art that builds communities and art that endures through history, K.Co Press books explore art that inspires, and celebrate what art can do. Documenting the stories behind renowned artists, organizations and artworks, producing visual road trip travel diaries and refreshing timeless archival art, our curated art book selection is as inspirational as it is beautiful.

K.Co Press was founded in 2021 when Stephanie Khattak was inspired to make fine art coffee table books from James Khattak's road trip photography in West Texas, the Texas coast and throughout Texas' neighboring states.

2023 brought our first speaking engagements, art and literary fair appearances and other opportunities to directly connect with art lovers, readers and off-the-path travel aficionados.

In 2024, K.Co acquired and published its first artist retrospective, pursued additional acquisitions for 2025, launched a thriving collaborative/custom services line and produced the podcast Call/Response: Writers on Art & Artists on Literature.

We are based in Dallas and work with people all over the country. We're really excited about our new release, "Joy Machine," by Jeffie Brewer. Do you need some art joy in your life?

Next up, author Jason Hensel takes readers "Deep in the Art of Ellum" to share the history, stories and community impact of Kettle Art Gallery! This currently untitled book will publish in December 2025.

Our Creative Process

Whether its focus is visual art and photography, an artist's story or serves as a creative legacy, a K.Co book is recognizable.

Each year, we acquire book ideas from one-or-two interesting artists or arts writers with unique perspectives, and work with them to publish books, in a traditional publishing model, that go beyond documenting their work to tell a bigger story.

Through K.Co Projects, we also produce custom artist portfolios, exhibition catalogs and other publication projects to help artists support personal projects and showcase their work.

We spend a lot of time considering details like theme and narrative focus, and design books to best showcase an artist’s story and work. We hire professional editors and production experts for each project, engage a fine art printing specialist and consider specialty touches and interesting design elements. Our books tell an artist's story and function as a treasured decorative object or meaningful gift.

K.Co prioritizes placement within galleries, museums, specialty gift stores and independent booksellers who are as unique as we are, and whose customers will love what we offer.
