Through humor and Burke’s original drawings, this book compares and contrasts the author’s life with the lives of his parents: Ann, from a small mill-town in County Armagh, and more specifically, Tom Burke, a larger-than-life nightclub doorman and construction manager who plied his trade on three continents over four decades. 

Adam Burke, born in Perth, Australia and raised in the north of Ireland, is a stand-up comedian in Chicago and throughout the Midwest, and regularly appears as a panelist on the weekly NPR News quiz show Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!
